Was searching today for open-source media cataloging softwares. Found some interesting stuff:
LibDB. For now in early stage of development. Perl/MySQL cgi based. “LibDB is still in the early development stages, with a focus on movie-related cataloguing. Most concrete forward movement will be catered to movies, but realize that the final versions will be far more than just movies. The LibDB database is defined in such a way that you could describe books and other forms of media, even if the interface assumed you were entering film.”
Alexandrian Archives. GTK gui, XML catalog. In Alpha stage too. Catalog files and directories from different sources.
MediaLibrary. Catalog media (CD, DVD). In Java.
Hyper’s CdCatalog. QT based, for Windows and Linux. Screenshots look nice and I will definitely try it. Read mp3 tags. Possibility to add a comment per file. Store catalog in gzipped XML.
MyCataloque. Catalogue your HDs and CDs, and organize your files into groups. Only Windows.
